About the role
Electromechanician
Location: Montreal, Lachine
Nellson, a leading North American manufacturer of nutritional bars and powders, is seeking a passionate electromechanician to actively contribute to its mission and support the growth of its operations.
Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, the Electromechanician responds to various electromechanical intervention requests within required timeframes.
Responsabilities
- Follows instructions and priorities set by the team leader/supervisor. Responds to calls from production as needed.
- Provides follow-up after interventions with the supervisor and/or operator, sharing relevant information regarding actions taken. Responds to emergencies during production stoppages.
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks on specific equipment. Provides technical support to production.
- Conducts regular inspections along the production line and informs the supervisor and/or line manager when necessary.
- Documents all actions taken on the lines in the “Mechanical Report” log and/or Interal system.
- Diagnoses issues on manufacturing production equipment involving pneumatics, mechanics, and electronics.
- Completes purchase requisitions when required and follows up on the receipt of ordered parts with the buyer.
- Participates in shift change meetings. Complies with established procedures (lockout/tagout, troubleshooting, GMP).
- Works safely and ensures risks and hazards are properly identified and neutralized during interventions.
- Performs any other tasks related to the position and the proper functioning of the Maintenance department.
- Diagnose issues in manufacturing production equipment involving pneumatics, mechanics, and electronics
Required profile
- Fluent in written and spoken English or French
- Work schedule: Thursday to Sunday and Friday to Sunday, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (night shifts)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the manufacturing or food industry diagnosing equipment involving pneumatics, electronics, and electricity
- DEP or DEC in Industrial Mechanics or Electromechanics
- Excellent logical thinking and troubleshooting reflexes
- Ability to complete required documentation for preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as reports related to food quality standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong interest in hands-on work, learning, and growing within a company that invests in and supports its maintenance team
