Position Details

The Caretaking Services department invites applications for three full-time Facilities Operations 3 positions to commence work on approximately September 22, 2025.

Each position is responsible for removing all waste/recycling and could use multiple lifts at various heights on campus. This position is also possibly responsible for deliveries of supplies and equipment for the Caretaking department. The successful applicants would also be available for some pest control and janitorial work (i.e. floor scrubbing, carpet cleaning, floor refinishing, using a back vacuum, and general cleaning,). Assisting with the completion of minor maintenance projects, filter changes, event setups, operating cleaning equipment (i.e. forklift, polishers, auto scrubbers, burnishers, and other cleaning equipment); adhering to standard operating procedures and safe work practices. Use of AI robot cleaning equipment is an asset.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Position Qualifications

The successful candidates will have a high school diploma and at least 12 months of related work experience. In addition, the candidates will have a valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required. We are looking for high energy individuals who can demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

  • Effective English reading, verbal and written communication skills at the appropriate level for the position

  • Reliable, positive, and detail oriented with excellent time management skills, safety conscious

  • Delivery experience, use of vehicle lifts, and forklift operation would be an asset

  • TMA, Word, and Excel knowledge

  • Experience with heavy duty cleaning equipment; current WHMIS certification is an asset

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work (i.e. including bending, twisting, climbing stairs, pushing, and pulling, regular lifting of 25 kg and occasional lifting of 50 kg) in a safe and efficient manner

  • A proven ability to maintain effective working relationships and provide quality customer service

  • Standard first aid and CPR certification is desired

  • Some experience with supervising would be considered an asset

  • Criminal record check

  • Driver’s Abstract

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)

$3,135.00 - $3,433.00 monthly

Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)

$3,135.00 - $3,729.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 3)
