Outpatient Physical Therapist

BayCare is currently in search of our newest Physical Therapist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. St. Joseph’s Hospital is well known for its advanced medical technologies and outstanding patient care, with more than 70 specialties represented among our medical teams. Outpatient Physical Therapist Responsibilities
Review medical history and diagnosis. Perform tests: range of motion, muscle strength, coordination, balance, respiration, sensation, posture, motor function. Evaluate efficacy and safety of mobility and transfers: bed mobility, sit ‑ to ‑ stand, gait, etc. Develop individualized, evidence ‑ based treatment plans with measurable goals and timelines. Use therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, functional mobility training, modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation), and assistive devices. Adjust plan as patient progresses; reassess and update goals accordingly. Instruct on proper exercise technique, safe transfer methods, use of DME (walkers, canes, orthotics) Train caregivers/families on home exercise programs and precautions. Communicate with physicians, nursing, case-management, social workers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other team members through rounds and conferences to coordinate discharge planning and care goals. Responsible for providing the appropriate level of clinical direction for Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehabilitation Technicians, Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant students and volunteers. Team members with temporary permits must work under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist that has been licensed for a minimum of six months. A supervising licensed Physical Therapist may only supervise one permittee at any given time.

Required BLS (Basic Life Support)
Required PT (Physical Therapy) Or PT (Physical Therapy) Eligible to obtain Or PT (Physical Therapy) Temporary and licensure within 6 months Required Bachelor's Physical Therapy

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No
Shift Hours: 8- or 10-hour shifts/Days
Weekend Work: Occasional
On Call: No
