About the Organization
Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day.
The Timmins West mine is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world’s most prolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine is comprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gap deposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts.

About the Opportunity
We are looking to hire a Chief Mine Geologist to join our Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON , on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hour days, or 4 on, 3 off, 10 hour days. Please note that this role is not a camp-based position.
Reporting to the Mine Manager, this role is responsible for leading all underground geology activities at the Timmins West Mine. You will manage the geology team, oversee grade control, ensure accurate geological models, and contribute to both short- and long-range mine planning. This position also plays a key role in drilling programs, reconciliation processes, and the identification of near-mine exploration targets.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing daily grade control systems and underground ore/waste calls
- Overseeing geological data collection, sampling, mapping, and database updates
- Providing geology input into stope design, mine planning, and reconciliation with Engineering
- Monitoring underground geological activities and responding to unexpected situations
- Developing and managing annual and quarterly mine plans, drilling schedules, and geology budgets
- Liaising with resource geologists, drill coordinators, and technical services teams
- Reviewing and approving mine layouts, forecasts, and geological interpretations
- Identifying and advancing exploration targets to support resource growth
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Mentoring and developing geologists and geological technicians
More About You
To qualify, you will need a B.Sc in Geology and to be a registered Professional Geologist in good standing. A minimum of 5 years of combined exploration and production geology experience, preferably in an underground gold mining environment, will also be essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Datamine, GIS software, and Deswik are assets. A driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

You are a collaborative team player who can also work independently, make sound decisions under pressure, and contribute to high technical standards across the geology department.
