About the job
- collaborate with Justice stakeholders: build effective working relationships with the Regional Senior Judge (RSJ), Judicial Services Managers and key Justice system partners to support court operations and regional priorities
- provide administrative services to the RSJ and RM: deliver high level administrative support to RSJ and Judicial Services Managers, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective decision making. Responsibilities include: composing correspondence, drafting endorsements, answering inquiries, managing office supplies, maintaining Outlook calendars
- organize events: coordinate and manage official regional court events, meetings and regional initiatives that support the administration of Justice
- preparing reports and documents: draft well organized reports and correspondence such as, reserve judgment database, conference requests and expense reports
- keep records: maintain accurate and confidential records that are essential to the effective administration of court operations and regional programs
What you bring to the team
Mandatory:
- You can type at least 50 words per minute
Technical knowledge
You can/have:
- understand how Superior and Ontario court work, including legal terms
- demonstrated knowledge of office administration including financial policies and purchasing practices
Organizational, communication and analytical skills
You can:
- organize your work, manage the Justice's schedule, meet deadlines, and keep files in order
- communicate well with colleagues, write letters, and answer questions
- use good judgement and professionalism with sensitive and private information
- negotiate and solve problems to handle issues and challenges
Computer skills
You can:
- use Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet to write letters and legal documents
- do research and make reports
- compile statistics and prepare presentations
- use online platforms like Zoom and Teams to schedule meetings
