We’re looking for a Principal UX Researcher to lead high-impact research across product areas, drive strategic thinking, and elevate the role of user insights in our organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings thought leadership to complex problems, and is passionate about growing research maturity and influence across teams. This position offers the opportunity to shape product direction, mentor researchers and cross-functional partners, and advocate for the needs of a diverse global user base across platforms (iOS, Android, and web).
Responsibilities:
- Drive and lead generative and evaluative research on high-impact initiatives, influencing strategic product direction and business outcomes.
- Define and evolve research vision and roadmaps for complex, multi-platform ecosystems.
- Partner with product, design, analytics, and engineering leadership to integrate user insights into decision-making at every level.
- Deliver executive-level research storytelling that frames opportunities and inspires action.
- Coach and mentor UX researchers and cross-functional colleagues in research best practices and methods.
- Advance research operational excellence by contributing to scalable practices, tools, and processes.
- Champion inclusivity and accessibility in product design through research and user advocacy.
- Support a culture of evidence-based product development by enabling teams to self-serve research when appropriate.
- (Preferred) Provide guidance or leadership to a research team or manage direct reports, as we grow the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; Master’s or PhD preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in UX research, HCI, or a related field, with a strong track record of impact on product strategy.
- Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of research methods including ethnographic, generative, and mixed-method studies.
- Experience working in enterprise software, SaaS, or other complex systems environments.
- Proven ability to lead large, ambiguous projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills.
- Experience mentoring or managing other researchers is a strong plus.
- Passion for inclusive, human-centered design and the craft of meaningful, elegant user experiences.
