Maintenance Technician
About the role
Role Description: The Packaging, Filling & General Facility Maintenance Mechanic ensures the efficient operation and maintenance of Packaging and Filling Equipment and General Facility Maintenance and promotes improvements as required.
General Responsibilities:
• Set up and tear down of all production equipment as per the production schedule.
• Ensures lines are operating to meet production targets.
• Responsible for repairs, in-prosses adjustments, breakdowns, and troubleshooting.
• Completion of Preventative Maintenance tasks and PM logs.
• Assists in filling-out Production Line Downtime logs.
• Proper clean-up, storage of parts and tools.
• Monitor equipment to identify routine and unique issues and recommend solutions.
• Validates that implementation of a solution is correct and equipment is operating and working properly.
• Continuous communication with the Production Manager and Maintenance Supervisor on-shift and at shift change.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• This position has rotating shifts, therefore, availability to work both Day and Afternoon Shift is required.
• Experience with the operation of bottle labelers, boxers, ink jet printers is required.
• Position can be physically demanding – requirements for standing for long periods, bending, walking, and lifting up to 20kg
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary education in Facilities and/or Equipment Maintenance is preferred.
• 3 years of previous experience in a fluid (liquid) filling and packaging environment is preferred
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and safety standards.
• High level of Mechanical interest aptitude.
• High level of trouble-shooting abilities.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work well independently, in a team environment and able to take direction.
• Proficient communication skills.
