Meet our client We are partnering with a leading organization in the Canadian Railway industry to find a skilled and driven Electrical Engineer.

About The Role This is a leadership role at the intersection of technical execution and team management. You will be responsible for the technical delivery of complex refurbishment projects, on scope, on time, and on budget, while building a culture of accountability and quality within your engineering team.
Responsibilities Delivering Results
- Ensure engineering deliverables are met according to project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
- Monitor technical progress and budget compliance, adjusting course as needed.
- Define clear KPIs and take corrective and preventive action based on daily project reports.
Leadership & Team Management
- Build a culture of accountability, trust, and high-quality standards within the team.
- Motivate and align the team around shared objectives; evaluate performance and anticipate potential issues.
- Ensure team members understand the significance of their work and its contribution to company goals.
Technical Project Management
- Oversee and maintain all technical aspects of locomotive and railcar refurbishment projects.
- Allocate and manage technical resources to meet project deadlines.
- Track technical performance and propose process improvements.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate effectively with team members and keep stakeholders informed.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities across departments.
- Provide technical support to other departments, facilitate decision-making, and resolve technical issues.
- Coordinate and plan tasks across multiple teams, ensuring effective collaboration.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment — ideally in railway, transportation, or heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated experience managing or supervising an engineering team.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, refurbishment, and industrial equipment modification processes.
- Bilingual French/English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Solid command of project management tools and industry-specific technical software.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical reports and take appropriate action.
- Capacity to develop engineering estimates and forward-looking project strategies.
- Knowledge of railway industry standards (AAR, APTA, FRA) — a significant asset.
