Core Responsibilities

Reporting to the IT Manager, the Advisor IT End User Productivity will need to quickly and effectively solve problems, either leading efforts for “Carbon” services or supporting the larger corporate IT team. The Advisor IT End User Productivity is responsible for providing daily IT support and troubleshooting, and assisting with network device installation and troubleshooting, they also collaborate with other departments to deliver IT solutions, maintain clear documentation, and continuously seek improvements by staying current with technology trends and best practices.

This position is based in Squamish, BC and may require work outside business hours if necessary.

Technical

  • Operational Support : Provide day-to-day IT support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide effective solutions, facilitating seamless integration of IT services across the organization.
  • Documentation : Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT processes, configurations, and procedures, ensuring clarity and accessibility for team members and future reference.
  • Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices to continuously improve IT operations, including attending relevant training and certifications.
  • Network Assistance: Assist Enterprise Network & Voice team with network device installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Education and Experience

Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in IT roles with a broad range of responsibilities related to providing quality service support

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality IT services in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with device management (configuration, troubleshooting, etc.).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with tools like Microsoft Intune or SCCM for managing and securing endpoints.
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
  • Proficiency in database management (e.g., SQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with application development and exposure to OT (production) networks.
  • Familiarity with standard IT processes such as incident response, disaster recovery, service desk management, and change control.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery tools like Veeam, Acronis, or Commvault.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+).
  • Knowledge of IAM solutions such as Active Directory, LDAP, or Okta

Compensation and Benefits
Carbon Engineering offers a competitive compensation package including:

  • Base salary for a senior role is $70,000 to $90,000
  • Up to 15% target for annual bonus
