About the role
Transdev Canada is actively seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer (P.Eng.) to support the maintenance team to ensure all required work is carried out effectively and is properly recorded for the Hurontario LRT Project, a Light Rail Operation in the Greater Toronto Area. Transdev is present throughout North America, with a strong presence in Canada.
Your role
Construction Stage
- Oversee Testing and Commissioning (T&C) activities for revenue vehicles, fixed facilities, and rail system infrastructure (traction power substation, overhead catenary system, etc.) to ensure test specifications and procedures are followed and objectives are met
- Review T&C documentation including test procedures, reports, specifications and design drawings to ensure compliance from a Service Provider perspective
- Create T&C summary reports and manage issues/punch list items with stakeholders
- Review technical interface design control documentation such as design drawings, schematics and blueprints to ensure design criteria, contractual agreements and regulations are achieved and compliant
- Prepare engineering documentation such as reports, plans, standards and procedures
- Support the organization for the preparation and management of maintenance Documentation within your scope
- Support maintenance department to prepare for Revenue Service Demonstration and ensure a smooth transition towards maintenance activities prior to the start of Revenue Service
- Provide field and technical support as required
- Other duties as assigned
Operations Stage
- Responsible for the life cycle activities of the rolling stock & fixed assets
- Lead the RAMS analysis of the rolling stock & fixed assets, coordinate activities to improve the RAMS Analysis and recommend opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
- Analyze the life cycle costs of the rolling stock & fixed assets
- Analyze rolling stock and fixed asset failures to determine root cause and provide viable solution
- Monitor and analyze asset reliability, availability, and maintainability data to provide failure trends and recommend changes
- Record test procedures and results and provide suggestions for changes in products or test methods
- Provide technical professional engineering expertise for modifications, troubleshooting, analysis and maintenance of revenue vehicles, fixed facilities, and rail system infrastructure
- Perform fleet and infrastructure condition assessments as required
- Troubleshoot, repair, and conduct predictive testing using specialized equipment and instrumentation
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, technology enhancement, and cost-saving measures in engineering practices and procedures and implement best practices to optimize outcomes and performance
- Collaborate with section managers/supervisors to diagnose and overhaul mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Other duties as assigned

Your profile
- You possess a bachelor’s in electrical engineering
- You possess a P.Eng. license with Professional Engineers Ontario
- You are fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You are available for on-site dayshifts and occasional off-shift activities as required
Work Experience Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
- Must have a valid Ontario G license
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in traction power systems is an asset
- Testing and Commissioning experience is an asset
- Rail industry experience is an asset
