Your Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced environmental practitioner to join our environmental site assessment, remediation, and risk assessment practice in our Ottawa office with expertise in one or both of the following:
- Environmental site investigation and remediation
- Environmental risk assessment
We are seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual, capable of working independently, with a keen interest in environmental consulting to join our team and advance their career in our Ottawa office. You’ll have the chance to dive into a variety of exciting projects, supporting a wide range of clients and sectors across the country. Imagine conducting site investigations, crafting remedial action plans, evaluating human health and ecological risks, and implementing innovative risk management measures!
You will collaborate with our established and growing team of practitioners in Ontario, supported by a robust network of technical leaders across the country and globally. As a Canadian leader in environmental site assessment, human health and ecological risk assessment, our group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in hydrogeology, site assessment, contaminant fate and transport, risk assessment, risk management, site remediation, and risk communication.

Your Key Responsibilities
As an environmental practitioner, your role will be focused on environmental site assessment, remediation and/or risk assessment. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage environmental programs including: Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, site monitoring programs, excess soil investigations, remediation programs, and/or risk assessments
- Develop relationships with key clients to further expand business opportunities
- Mentor junior staff to learn and follow standard operation procedures for work assigned, while continuing to develop skills
- Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data, and draft technical reports
- Carry-out office duties such as data analysis and interpretation, report preparation, proposal preparation, and general project management tasks
- Occasional travel may be required
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficiency with environmental site assessment, excess soil management, soil vapour assessments, remedial options analysis and risk management plans
- Established project management skills
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills, in particular with respect to regulatory agencies, project stakeholders, and clients
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure and within short timelines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Conscientious, detail oriented, and disciplined approach to projects
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Initiative in integrating creativity and efficiency in all work tasks
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
- Ability to obtain federal reliability security clearance.
Education and Experience
- Educational Background: Degree and/or post-graduate college diploma in Civil/Environmental/Geological/Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Toxicology or Environmental Sciences (Master’s degree an additional asset).
- Professional Designation: P.Eng., P.Geo. designation in Ontario, and/or eligibility for QPESA and/or QPRA status in Ontario
- Experience Level: 5+ years in environmental consulting or a related field, with client, project and/or staff leadership experience
- Ability to obtain Secret Security clearance with the federal government is an asset
