##Description
The Specialist, Electrical and Construction Projects manages the full life cycle of small to mid‑sized electrical construction projects in partnership with the Project Manager, Facilities, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. They oversee electrical subcontractors, material procurement, contract documentation, and all project scheduling, cost management, and safety reviews. The role develops project plans, scopes of work, charters, schedules, and change structures while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, landlords, property managers, and third‑party service providers. They are responsible for capital and renovation projects across their assigned facilities and contribute to long‑term planning for future needs.
This role requires the candidate to be onsitethree days per week, withTuesday as a required in‑office day. It also involves25%–40% travelacross the country.
The successful Specialist will work closely with the immediate and extended Facilities team to accomplish the following:
Job Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and execute project work plans, including defining workflows and milestones, schedule and execute various project activities in assigned locations.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage project budgets, negotiate with vendors and subcontractors, and handle progress billings.
- Field Coordination & Safety: Lead on-site teams, monitor installation quality, and enforce health and safety regulations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Review, manage, and update project documents, including RFI logs, change orders, drawings, and closeout procedures.
- Client Relationship Management: Communicate project status, requirements, and potential delays to clients and general contractors.
- Assemble and manage resources from various functional groups (internal & external) to complete objectives and meet budget and timelines, provide direction and support to project teams, stakeholders, customers, etc.
###Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2-4 years of experience in electrical construction project management, or project coordination role
- Knowledge of electrical systems for industrial buildings
- Post-secondary diploma/degree (CET, Electrical Engineering Technician, Construction Management, etc.)
- Knowledge of applicable National and Provincial Electrical, industrial and Building Codes
- Professional and clear interaction (verbal and written) with internal/external clients, employees, project sponsors and stakeholders within various levels of the organization.
- Ability to build strong relationships and partnerships at all levels
- Analytical with ability to translate results of analyses into compelling rationales
- Solid financial acumen
- Exceptional Change Agent
- High energy, internal motivation Resourceful, flexible, innovative
- Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Access
**Language Requirement:**Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
