About the role
Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. We are seeking a Drilling Technician to join our
Calgary office.
Reporting to the Manager, Drilling Operations, this role supports field operations through
regulatory coordination, data management, and invoicing. This is a full-time, office-based
position with occasional after-hours support for time-sensitive operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory
- Prepare and submit AER well licence applications, amendments, and end-of-well
submissions (DDR, surveys, OneStop, DDS)
- Support spud, resumption, and non-compliance follow-up submissions
- Compile and submit Technical Audit packages
- Submit Worksafe BC Notice of Projects, well suspension and end-of-well reports
(logs, geology, surveys, SCVF)
- Manage BCER spud, suspension, resumption, and rig release notifications
- Report kick and loss circulation events
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements
Data Management
- Create and maintain well records in WellView
- Upload and manage well files and field documentation in StackDX
- Maintain final as-drilled and safety documentation
- Manage vendor access to well files
- Maintain SharePoint content, including drilling programs and best practices
- Communicate time-sensitive operational data internally and with partners
Invoicing

Process field tickets and invoices using OpenTicket, OpenInvoice, and Pricebook

Review invoices and verify supporting documentation

Resolve discrepancies with vendors and route for approval

Support field teams with training and issue resolution

Coordinate with vendors on pricing and account management
Operations Support
- Coordinate onboarding/offboarding of wellsite supervisors
- Maintain contractor and workforce records
- Support PPE ordering
- Assist with team event coordination
- Develop and maintain training materials
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of oil and gas technician experience (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; WellView and OpenInvoice are assets
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
- Effective communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Adaptable and capable of handling a broad range of responsibilities
