Overview
The City of Chilliwack Public Works and Parks Operations Department requires a Labourer I – Parks (Turf Maintenance) Time Duration position to assist the department through reliable performance in semi skilled labourer duties.

Are you the one we’re looking for?
We are looking for individuals who have experience as a semi skilled or skilled labourer with experience in any one of these fields, landscaping, labourer, horticulture, small tools, and equipment operators.

In order for you to succeed in this role, you will need to have the following requirements and skills:

• Experience in non and semi skilled tasks associated with labourer duties;

• Courses and/or experience in a variety of skills and trades such landscaping, horticulture practices

• Able to recognize and rectify and/or report upon actual or potential safety risks;

• Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, property owners and the public;

• Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision;

• Inspection and repair of various types of irrigation systems, including drip and sports fields

• Application of fertilizers and pesticides

• Inspections and repairs to outdoor sports facilities

• Operation of turf maintenance equipment

• Renovations to existing parks and sports fields

• Chafer Beetle control and damage repair
