Your contribution! Reporting to Manager – Operations and Maintenance, Hydro and Solar Energy.
Your day-to-day!
- Operate and maintain the facility as a service operator in accordance with contracts, maintenance plans, and established budgets;
- Optimize the efficiency and production of the solar farm by taking all necessary and required actions;
- Ensure that all work on site complies with policies and applicable safety, environmental, and engineering standards;
- Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to plan and record the work performed;
- Manage relationships with subcontractors who perform operational and maintenance work on site;
- Monitor SCADA to ensure proper production of the solar farm and quickly resolve any issues that arise;
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly internal operations reports on time;
- Conduct periodic health and safety inspections and remedy any non-compliance with subcontractors, if necessary;
- Represent the company, as needed, to Hydro-One or Sault Ste. Marie PUC and in relations with landowners and the community;
- Take all necessary steps to investigate and resolve alarms generated by the solar farm in order to minimize downtime (24/7 availability when in service);
- Operate heavy equipment (snow removal, grass cutting, etc.);
- Ensure that on-site teams are trained and equipped to perform their work safely and efficiently.
Your skills, our requirements!
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in electromechanics or electricity will be considered and given preference;
- Experience in renewable energy is an asset;
- Experience with voltage converters is an asset;
- Experience with SCADA systems and PLCs is an asset;
- Have a good knowledge of mobile vehicles (tractors, ATVs, etc.);
- Possess a valid Class G driver's license;
- C competency card or red electricity seal is an asset;
- Training in electromechanics or electricity will be considered and given preference.

- The position is based in Sault Ste. Marie;
- This position is an O3 level.
