Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Introduction The Lands laboratory is developing lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to deliver nucleic acids and small molecule therapeutics for a variety of disorders. We are seeking a creative, self-driven scientist to establish a flexible cell-based testing platform that will accelerate the discovery and optimization of next-generation LNPs. This is a unique opportunity to lead platform development, gain project management experience, and contribute to the advancement of RNA and nanoparticle therapeutics.
Responsabilities And Objectives
- Lead the development of a platform of multiple human cell models to test RNA and therapeutic delivery,
- Drive projects at the interface of cell biology, nanomedicine, and therapeutic delivery,
- Collaborate with a team equipped with advanced tools, including a robotics liquid handler, microfluidics systems, and LNP characterization platforms,
- Apply your expertise in human cell culture, downstream assays (inflammation, CFTR function, ciliary biology), and RNA production/delivery,
- Develop essential project management skills to coordinate platform development and collaborative studies.

- PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, or related field.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in human cell culture and RNA delivery assays.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with lipid nanoparticle technology (asset, not required).
Additional information
Status: 1 year renewable. Temporary Full-time.
Annual Stipend: $50.000 - $55.000/year. (Consult McGill University’s Minimum Funding Policy for Postdoctoral fellows)
Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie.

A Postdoctoral fellow is a full-time student currently enrolled in a Canadian University program. The individual must have recently been awarded (within 5 years) a PhD or equivalent. The Postdoctoral fellow will receive a stipend or a bursary from a professor’s grant for research activities that will be performed on a full-time basis. All benefits are administered by the University under which they are registered.
