Job Role: Senior Cybersecurity Consultant – AI Security & AI-Driven Defense Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Duration: 06 Months of contract with Possible extension
Role Descriptions: We are seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Professional specializing in AI for Cybersecurity and Cybersecurity for AI to support one of Canada's largest banking institutions. The candidate will drive the adoption of AI-powered cyber defense capabilities while ensuring AI solutions are designed, deployed, and governed securely in compliance with banking and regulatory standards for our client.
Key Responsibilities: Design and implement AI-driven cybersecurity solutions for threat detection, fraud prevention, security operations, and cyber analytics. Define and enforce security controls for AI/GenAI platforms, including model security, data protection, adversarial attack mitigation, and secure AI lifecycle management. Assess cybersecurity risks associated with AI deployments and develop mitigation strategies aligned with industry frameworks. Partner with security, architecture, risk, compliance, and technology teams to establish AI governance, responsible AI, and cyber risk management practices. Develop security architectures for cloud, data, and AI platforms in highly regulated banking environments. Lead cyber strategy, assessments, threat modeling, and executive-level security advisory engagements.
Required Experience: 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Cyber Risk. Hands-on experience in AI Security, GenAI Security, Security Operations (SOC), Threat Detection, Cloud Security, or Cyber Architecture. Strong knowledge of AI/ML security risks, LLM security, prompt injection, data leakage prevention, model governance, and AI risk management. Experience working within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries. Familiarity with NIST AI RMF, MITRE Telecommunication & CK, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, cloud security frameworks, and regulatory expectations.
Preferred Qualifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent certifications. Experience with Microsoft Security Copilot, Azure AI Security, AWS Security Services, Google Vertex AI Security, or similar platforms. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
