About the job
• Plan and develop public events and announcements for elected officials, ensuring the Ministers are well-prepared and events align with communication strategies.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage all aspects of event-related projects, including logistics, resource allocation, and third-party coordination to ensure high-quality execution.
• Conduct research and evaluate events to identify issues and improve effectiveness, preparing briefing materials and strategic communications for senior officials.
• Build strong partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with ministry policies during public engagements.
What you bring to the team
Event expertise:
• You have strong event planning skills to ensure the Minister's public appearances are executed smoothly and are of high quality.
• You can lead communications planning by using research tools and strategy development techniques to design, evaluate, and manage public events and issues.
Project management skills:
• You have well developed project management and leadership skills to guide teams, manage multiple priorities, problem solve and deliver results on time.
Communication, consultation and presentation skills:
• You have well developed communication and presentation skills to prepare clear briefing materials and engage effectively with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
• You can build strong partnerships and work collaboratively across ministries and with external stakeholders to coordinate joint events and achieve shared goals.
• You can negotiate, mediate, and provide sound advice, even in complex or sensitive situations, adapting your approach to meet diverse interests and needs.
Research and analytical skills:
• You can analyze complex issues, break them down into component parts, and recommend solutions that support effective decision-making and event planning.
• You can assess sector trends and identify potential risks or opportunities, ensuring public events are well-informed, strategically timed, and aligned with ministry goals.
Business knowledge:
• You understand ministry legislation and decision-making processes, allowing you to give timely and strategic communications advice to colleagues, leadership, and stakeholders.
• You can align public events with government priorities, ensuring they support the broader goals of the environmental agenda.
