About the role

Who We Are:

At Wagepoint, we’re good people. Sure, maybe we’re biased. But that’s only because Wagepointers bring the best versions of ourselves to do some of the best work in our careers.

We’re an authentic team who bring our diverse backgrounds, ideas, experiences and cultures together to make payroll magic. Speaking of, we “pull rabbits out of hats” for thousands of small business owners across Canada who rely on our payroll software to pay their employees and process their payroll taxes. And we’re just getting started.

We’re growing and looking for more awesome people to join our merry band of misfits. We are looking for people who share our understanding that when it comes to our commitment to our customers: we mean business. Especially given that the consequences of getting payroll wrong can sometimes be dire.

If you are the kind of person who has always wanted to make a difference and be heard at work, Wagepoint will give you plenty of opportunity to do just that.

The Role at High Level:

We’re looking for a Partner Consultant to join Wagepoint’s Partner Services team and play a hands-on, consultative role in supporting accounting, bookkeeping, and ecosystem partners across Canada.

Over the next 12 months, this role will be primarily focused on executing migrations within Wagepoint, supporting partners as they transition their clients to the latest version of the platform. You’ll help partners plan and execute these migrations with minimal disruption, working closely with them to understand existing workflows, apply migration best practices, and ensure payrolls continue to run accurately and compliantly throughout the transition.

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to accounting and bookkeeping firms during onboarding and migration periods — combining hands-on execution with consultative guidance to help partners transition to Wagepoint efficiently and confidently.

As the Partner Services function evolves, this role is expected to expand to include earlier, pre-sales involvement with partners — supporting solution design, workflow planning, and consultative conversations ahead of client transitions.

You’ll report to the Director, Partner Services and collaborate closely with Partner Sales, Partner Account Managers, Customer Ops, Compliance, and Support.

This role offers $120K–$130K in total on-target earnings (OTE), with 80% base salary and 20% variable compensation tied to performance.

What You'll Be Expected To Own:

  • Support partners through client payroll migrations within Wagepoint, including planning timelines, validating data, and coordinating execution.
  • Act as a trusted service partner during onboarding and migration periods, helping accounting and bookkeeping firms transition to Wagepoint efficiently and confidently.
  • Manage multiple partner migration projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, follow-through, and clear communication.
  • Identify risks, complexities, or workflow gaps in migrations and escalate early to ensure smooth resolution.
  • Consult with partners on how to incorporate Wagepoint into their workflows as part of onboarding and client transitions.
  • Partner closely with internal teams to ensure aligned execution and timely delivery, including clear handoff once migrations are complete.
  • Partner closely with Partner Account Managers to ensure alignment and a smooth transition of ongoing partner ownership following completed migrations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for partner questions and escalations related specifically to migrations, onboarding, and transition execution.
  • Maintain clean, accurate CRM records by logging partner interactions and migration status.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve partner workflows during transitions and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to repeatable processes, templates, and best practices that improve Partner Services delivery.

What You Bring To The Table:

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting firms, bookkeeping practices, payroll service bureaus, or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll, payroll compliance, and small business workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills — strong communicator, empathetic listener, relationship builder.
  • Consultative mindset: you know how to diagnose needs and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working remotely across Canada; occasional travel may be required.
  • A positive, humble teammate who thrives in a friendly, collaborative, and highly supportive environment.

Bonus Points If:

  • You’ve supported payroll migrations at scale or worked through platform transitions.
  • You’ve worked with accounting or bookkeeping partner ecosystems.
  • You’ve used CRM tools like HubSpot.
  • You’re interested in evolving into a pre-sales or consultative role over time.
  • You’ve worked in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
