Sales Support - National Cable Specialists

Job Description This is a multi-function role in a Business Centre. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the person in the Sales Support role should be a dynamic self-motivated individual ready to work in a fast-paced team environment and capable of providing superior customer service to our valued customers.
Main Responsabilities
- Key Accountabilities
Support the sales team by performing back-end tasks. The objective is to allow salespeople to focus on sales more efficiently and productively, targeting an increase in sales Return on Investment (ROI) and customer satisfaction:
- Measurable increase in Sales ROI (Gross margin/Sales cost).
- Constantly and consistently engage in activities to improve personal product knowledge, technical expertise and sales fundamentals to better perform sales functions and provide added value to customers;
Work cooperatively with sales team to support the administration of sales functions when required;
Duties

Ensure all job functions are performed in accordance with the Standard Practice Instruction (SPI) Manual;
-
Assist in, where necessary, the various functions in office sales and administration, including:
-
Liaise with operations and purchasing personnel while entering orders;
-
Enter pricing quotations for customers, request vendor price and delivery (P&D) quotations and following-up on every quote, when necessary;
-
Administer the opening of new accounts and maintaining existing customer-account databases (Changes in contact information, billing and shipping address, company name, etc.);
-
Provide information updates, and solve problems when needed, on shipments sent to customers and incoming shipments from manufacturers to support sales personnel;
-
Process Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and Reel Return paperwork;
-
Ensure proper administration in the management of freight claims and reel returns;
-
Run Customer Sales Report for sales team;
-
Keep note of non-stock items frequently requested and share findings with sales team and purchasing;
-
Track no-charge “penny” reels and paid reels according to your branch’s policy;
-
Perform over-the-counter sales if your branch supports it;
-
Investigate orders considered dated (as per management, administration or sales team’s instructions) and find if there is any action required to finalize them;
-
Look after the accounts of those salespeople on vacation and/or holidays.

Work respectfully and diligently to grow existing business by promoting National Cable Specialists products and consistently offering our expertise and service;
-
Deal with every customer complaint in an expedient manner and ensure they are satisfied with our resolution;
-
Schedule work and allocate resources to ensure orders are fulfilled in an efficient manner and administration (data entry, paperwork) is completed according to company protocol;
-
Ensure superior customer service is the objective during each customer interface;
-
Stay informed of sales objectives, targeted product lines, required market-intel, vendor objectives, and competitor activities and actively promote new knowledge to management and teammates as deemed necessary;
-
In addition to the previous duty, keep track of competitions prices and practices from primary and secondary research;
-
Stay current in your profession and enroll in continuing education focused on sales strategies, account management principles:
-
Learn from the sales team about best practices in sales and product solutions;
-
Enroll in formal sales and related education courses to advance individual learning (Consult with your manager for suggestions);
-
Engage in personal development activities (leadership seminars, time-management classes and other trainings not directly related to sales or technical aspects of the market).

Continuously develop market, product and technical knowledge to remain up-to-date with various product lines (including vendor training) and industry changes:
-
Learn about market pricing, from interactions with customers, the sales team and individual research;
-
Enroll in vendor training events for main vendors;
-
Attend keynote talks on market updates and product lines;
-
Enroll in formal specialization training and continuously improve technical knowledge (Consult with your manager for suggestions).
-
Maintain a system of effective communication between operations and sales so that all parties are regularly updated with capacity challenges and service issues;
-
Generate sales leads to be evaluated and pursued by frontline sales team;
-
Effectively be a contact point between Corporate Marketing and the Sales Team, communicating needs and concerns both ways;
-
Distribute Marketing materials to sales team when required;
-
Assist in coordinating promotional events;
-
Performs any other duties as required by management
Qualifications
- Grade 12 minimum completed; Ideally 1-2 years of related experience;
- Strong communication and people skills, initiative;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, OUTLOOK);
- Interest and capability in performing sales duties and purchasing / inventory management functions as needed;
- Good knowledge of English and/or French written and spoken;
- Strong ability and desire to develop and grow skills.
