FACILITY ACCESS CONTROL TEAM LEAD Are you passionate about Safety & Security and seeking an opportunity to join ASP’s Commercial Security Team? A.S.P. Incorporated has provided security and customer service solutions for over 25 years to Canadian clients. We provide services including security, customer service, K9 detection, concierge, and baggage handling to a wide range of clients such as residential properties, commercial facilities, retail spaces, as well as some of the largest airports in Canada. ASP is looking for Facility Access Control Guards for an event and concert space in uptown Toronto on a 24/7 basis. Candidates must possess previous security experience and be able to provide highly visible service in a professional, competent, and courteous manner, whilst exercising excellent communication and customer service skills. Working with integrity and awareness, the Facility Access Control Team Lead takes responsibility for securing and protecting our clients Outdoor property. What you will do:
- Assist the shift supervisor with oversight of the site security team
- Vehicle and pedstrian Access control at multiple gates and entrey points to the property
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, at times there may be no shelter in place
- Operate a site vehicle or golf cart for conducting property patrols
- Assist the shift supervisor with oversight of the site security team
- Assist the shift supervisor with gate assignments, providing brake coverage for the team and daily operations
- Admin tasks such as updating scheduling sheets and submitting them in a timely manner
- Report writing and reviewing guards' daily reports for accuracy
- Use of company cell phone for reports
- Conducting locks and unlocks of doors, gates, and fences
- Foot patrols on site on an ongoing hourly basis, up to 10 000 steps
- Conduct site training of new team members
- Work in compliance with OHSA, AODA, CCC, and PSISA regulations, etc
- Be responsible for keys and other equipment such as cellphones and radios , trackign and logging during shift changes
- Collaborate with event staff, other security organizations, and dispatch personnel
- Perform other relevant functions as required
- Provide coaching and discipline if necessary
- Emergency response if required, serving as the point of direction for the site team
- Audit reports, patrols, and equipment log for completeness and accuracy
- Collaborate closely with ASP management and the site clients
- Provide protection from theft, vandalism, and trespassing
- Physically monitor and patrol the outdoor property and land
- Engage in professional, collaborative, and proactive security services
- Investigate, report, and respond to any incidents as required
- Assist in emergency situations such as evacuations and medical incidents
Working Environment:
- This is an outdoor position with some guard houses located at a few access points
- Working in all elements of the whether including rain, high winds, sun and heat
- Exposure to dust or dirt from gravel roads
- Standing /Walking for up to 12 hours
- Large outdoor concert venue with only portable washroom access
- On show days, exposure to loud music and crowds
- Potential exposure to outdoor elements such as bugs, bees' tall grass
Who you are:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of security experience, tactical or events preferred
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Ability to work in a crowded environment, think critically, and work with a team
- Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License
- Must possess a G driver’s license with a clean abstract
- Must possess valid First Aid, CPR and AED certification (Standard Level C)
- Strong written and verbal communication, including radio use
- Ability to work 12-hour rotations is mandatory, inclusive of holidays and weekends
- Able to walk extended distances, including stairs, in all weather conditions
- Ability to conduct continuous patrols, potentially up to 10,000 steps
Competitive wages:
- Wage range: $20.25/hour
