About the role

Project Opportunity We are looking for an Environmental Coordinator to join our FCC Canada team assigned to the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations Project.

This position is located in downtown Toronto, ON and requires a daily presence in the office and/or on the construction sites.

Reports to: Environmental Manager The Environmental Coordinator will beresponsible for maintaining administration of the Environmental Team on the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations project. This encompasses managing environmental deliverables and documents, and maintaining Environmental Management System Software Solution.

The Environmental Coordinator Key Responsibilities Are

  • Check environmental deliverables for deadlines and remind responsible personnel to submit deliverables on-time, as well as check the status of client’s reviews, and notify responsible personnel of review completed and/or comments received that need to be addressed.
  • Chase and obtain paperwork from subcontractors, including but not limited to waste manifest, weekly/monthly reports, etc. and ensure that paperwork is saved in appropriate locations.
  • Manage documents for the environmental team and being the point of contact to the project document control team.
  • Maintain project wide Environmental Management System Software Solutions (i.e. Cority), and be the point of contact externally to other teams on the project, and externally to subcontractors, client and other stakeholders.
  • Schedule meetings for the environmental teams and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Work with the team to create trackers to monitor environmental monitoring progresses and submittals.
  • Conduct other tasks as assigned by Environmental Manager.

Education And Qualifications

  • A diploma or a bachelor or advanced degree in an environmental related discipline (ecology/biology/environmental science) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 0 to 1 year experience working in environmental industry (i.e. environmental consulting, management, etc.).

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of environmental legislation in Ontario.
  • Experience working in construction/infrastructure industry or related fields.
  • Prior experience with administration and/or environmental monitoring in transit projects is considered as an asset.
  • Prior experience with Environmental Management System Software Solutions and/or other similar Software Programs is considered as an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to effectively plan and prioritize workloads.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of a full and valid Ontario driver's license.
