THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re looking for a Fire Alarm Project Manager with the drive and leadership potential to grow into our Division Manager for the Fire Alarm Projects division.
In this role, you’ll not only manage installation projects in Vancouver, BC and surrounding areas — you’ll be preparing to take the reins of the division in the future. We’re looking for someone who is as comfortable rolling up their sleeves to deliver successful projects as they are thinking big picture about people, processes, and operational excellence.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Project Management
- Manage Fire Alarm installation projects from planning to close-out, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Work with major general contractors, end users, and construction management firms on new construction and retrofit/renovation projects.
- Understand and apply building code requirements, industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and AHJ permitting processes.
- Oversee all project deliverables, milestones, and schedules — ensuring alignment with construction timelines.
- Manage all technical communication with clients, the Project Coordinator, and field teams.
- Handle change orders, invoicing, procurement tracking, and budget monitoring.
Operational Oversight (with a path to leadership)
- Gain exposure to divisional planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Support and eventually lead divisional sales efforts, including project bids, client proposals, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Build relationships with key clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to strengthen the division’s market presence.
- Mentor and develop field and office teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational best practices.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
We’re not just looking for someone to run projects — we’re looking for a future leader. You have:
- Ambition to advance into a Division Manager role within the Fire Alarm Projects division.
- Leadership qualities — you inspire trust, can make decisions with confidence, and know how to bring people together to achieve results.
- A big-picture mindset, with the ability to dive into operational details when needed.
- Experience in, or a strong understanding of, company operations (field, office, and business management functions).
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma, Red Seal, GSC, PMP, or relevant trade/technical certification.
- 3+ years of Project Management experience in Fire Protection, Industrial, Construction, or related fields.
- Strong communication skills — you can connect with field crews, office teams, and executives alike.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once in collaboration with superintendents and coordinators.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project) and the ability to create and maintain tracking systems.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to anticipate challenges and create solutions.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
- Competitive salary with incentive structures.
- Clear career path from Project Manager to Division Manager.
- Company-paid training and education opportunities.
- A collaborative work environment with a supportive leadership team.
- Social events, team-building activities, and a positive, growth-oriented culture.
- Comprehensive benefits package after 3 months (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, EAP).
PLEASE NOTE: Successful candidates must provide a Drivers Abstract, Criminal Background Check, and any other security clearance as required. This posting is open to both internal and external candidates. Local candidates only.
