About the role

Core Function: Reporting to the Property Management Supervisor, responsible for implementing the preventive maintenance program on all building systems, responding to emergency building maintenance and security requests, and ensuring that the building is maintain in a clean, attractive and safe condition Qualifications: High school completed, and at least 1 year relevant courses in building system maintenance at the community college level At least 3 years of related experience, preferably in building maintenance Knowledge of legislations and relevant procedures regarding building standards, fire and safety Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs for building systems and ground maintenance Some understanding of computer software applications (word processing, Chinese word processing, spreadsheet) Good interpersonal skills. Experience working with seniors is an asset Good oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese Physical Demands/Working Conditions: Considerable standing, walking, lifting, pushing and bending Exposure to all resident care elements through regular client contact. Exposure to garbage, dust, heat, noise, and humidity. On-call services for building maintenance, emergency and safety manners. Required to work weekends including statutory holidays and evening and night shifts if necessary Responsibilities: Implements and/or supervises the contractors in carrying out preventive maintenance programs on all building and security systems, with due concern for the safety and comfort of clients Supervises and coordinates works performed by contractors to ensure that they comply with standard safety cautions and the works are completed in accordance with the specifications Conducts investigation and inspection of property matters; reports, records and performs rectifications Responsible for all repair and maintenance both interior and exterior, general appearance and security of the building. Responds to work order and repair requests and maintains log of outstanding work orders Responds to emergency building maintenance and safety/security matters and follows up according to established emergency procedures Ensures and performs year round ground maintenance duties including landscaping, snow removal as required, and garbage/recycling items handling Implements a key control system and ensures safekeeping of keys. Controls parking in accordance with established procedures Orders building supplies and equipment and maintains inventory control Maintains documents update, filing all maintenance/repairing record Coordinates and performs physical setup for special functions and events. Assists in mass program/activities Ensures entrance/exit areas are properly secured, and clear of blockages; monitors fire alarm/exit light and assists in fire alarms Complies with health and safety, and infection control policies and procedures Provides back-up to other team members, such as home support workers and front desk, for the safety and security of residents and buildings Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field Other duties as assigned Please apply before: 2026-07-04 Salary Range: $25.15 - $29.60 INTERNAL APPLICANTS: PLEASE APPLY THROUGH THE JOBS HUB Our people are our greatest strength and the core of our success.
