Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Supervisor to join our Settlements team. The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritize and manage a complex workload.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of Canadian, US, and International Equity and Fixed Income Settlements at Canaccord Genuity;
  • Assist with the annual review and update of Business Impact Analysis and Business Resumption Plan;
  • Participate in biannual review of ICFR narratives and support Internal Audit’s Departmental Controls review;
  • Coordinate with Equity Capital Markets/Debt Capital Markets on Settlement logistics for Canaccord-led deals in CDS or DTC;
  • Liaise with industry committees as needed;
  • Foster strong relationships with peers within Canaccord and across the industry to share ideas and knowledge;
  • Collaborate with internal & regulatory auditors as required;
  • Support the growth & development of Settlements team members to enable superior service to our internal and external clients;
  • Contribute to efficiency initiatives and support change implementation;
  • Provide input for staff performance reviews;
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a key Financial Services Operations business unit;
  • Extensive hands-on experience with CDS and DTC procedures and rules, including risk and collateral management functions;
  • Understanding of Buy-in principles in Canada and the US, including Reg SHO;
  • Experience with settlements in UK, Europe, and Australia an asset;
  • Understanding of National Instrument 24-101 & CIRO CDS TRAX DP Trade Match Comparison are assets;
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence;
  • Familiarity with and understanding of interdependencies with other Operational teams an asset;
  • Ability to think strategically and adapt to change;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while maintaining a keen attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills to support efficiencies;
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Knowledge of Broadridge Dataphile, CDS, DTC and ARROW required.
