We are looking for a Parts Counter Person to join our Summit Truck & Equipment Repair team in the West Kootenays, just a 30-minute commute from Castlegar, BC. The successful candidate will operate the parts department in a safe and efficient manner, performing the duties required of a parts / warehouse person. Key Responsibilities

- Actively contribute to a “Safety First” culture.
- Perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that will improve the service provided by the parts department.
- Take part in training / professional development programs as they become available or are required.
- Locate parts for customers and shop technicians from inventory or suppliers.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, co-workers and suppliers.
- Prepare invoices and credits as required.
- Support yearly inventory count process
- Document and follow up on all orders and returns.
- Maintain a clean organized warehouse.
- Manage warranty parts.
- Preform rotating bin counts and inventory management.
- Receive and produce weekly stock orders.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Must possess a valid driver’s abstract.
- Helpful, team player with a positive attitude.
- Care and attention to detail with paperwork and follow-up on orders a must.
- Must be computer literate and have the ability to learn new programs and use them in an efficient manner.
- Able to organise and prioritise the workflow in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrate and pass on safe work practices.
- Able to work shifts up to 11.25 hours per day or as indicated in the averaging agreement.
- Lifting supplies, parts and materials under (50 lbs) as required
- Able to bend, lift, twist, and extend to pick, put away, and distribute parts.
- Must be able to do repetitive tasks such as typing & putting away orders
WORKING CONDITIONS The Incumbent Can Expect Variable Levels Of Exposure To
- Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing.
- Fluorescent lighting and computer screen glare.
- Possible exposure to all outdoor elements.
Health And Safety Responsibilities
- Follow company safety rules.
- Be knowledgeable of fire safety.
- Optional participation in JOHSC.
- Knowledge of WHMIS.
- Responsible to report hazards and near misses.
- Practicing safe lifting and other ergonomic best practice.
- Follow good housekeeping procedures.
