JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Access and Flows is responsible for managing all aspects of the program and services provided at Windsor Regional Hospital. The Director will work collaboratively to strengthen and develop partnerships within WRH and the ESC Hospital Capacity Table to ensure the delivery of high quality care and outcomes to facilitate integration and coordination of excellent patient care. The Director will apply strategic operations knowledge and a broad-based clinical or management expertise across integrated patient care portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responds to complex, sensitive and/or contentious issues and queries, ensuring patient care service needs are met.

Establishes and oversees execution of long and short-term strategies, goals and objectives for the portfolio in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.

Leads and oversees Corporate Patient Flow for WRH.

Collaborates with WRH Program Directors to strategize to meet Provincial and internal flow metrics.

Participates with OH West on ALC best practices and Access and Flow guidelines.
-
Establishes portfolio policies, practices and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, service delivery and the operationalization of learning, skill development and capability.

Oversees management of portfolio financial and employee resources to support the achievement of goals and objective and recommends for approval portfolio operating plans/ budgets.

Leads and oversees patient care quality, patient flow, patient safety, and risk management for their portfolio.

Contributes authoritatively to the organization’s strategic plan and vision.

Develops portfolio programs, including H2H, and appropriate performance/success indicators that support the organization’s strategic direction and ensure alignment with community partner strategies.

Authoritatively represents the organization’s position at industry and community forums/meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree in nursing, health, business or related discipline required

A minimum of five (5) years health-related leadership and/or managerial experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required

Effective communication with and understanding of others

Ability to communicate in the French Language would be considered an asset

Windsor Regional Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in the Province of Ontario, serving a population of 400,000 people in Windsor and Essex County. It is the regional provider of advanced care in areas that include Complex Trauma, Renal Dialysis, Cardiac Care, Stroke and Neurosurgery, Intensive Care, Acute Mental Health, Family Birthing Centre, Neonatal Intensive Care, Paediatric Services, Regional Cancer services and a broad range of medical and surgical services required to support these specialized areas.

Providing Acute Care Services with 650 plus beds and an operating budget of half of a billion dollars, Windsor Regional Hospital is one of the largest community based non-academic hospitals in the Province of Ontario.
