CMI sources and processes recycled ferrous and non-ferrous metals across North America and ensure they do not end up in a landfill or go to waste. Our recycling stream ensures that all the ferrous and non-ferrous metals that enter our yards will create something new again!

Here’s where you come in…

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is the go-to person for all things hiring at CMI. This role is all about momentum, someone who thrives on a fast pace, knows how to prioritize, and genuinely enjoys the chase of finding and landing great talent.

As part of the HR team, you’ll own the full recruitment cycle end-to-end, keeping things moving with a strong sense of urgency and a “get it done” mindset. If you get a kick out of filling roles, building teams, and making an impact quickly, this is your lane.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will also support broader HR initiatives, including but not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of full life cycle recruitment, including sourcing strategy, phone interviews, presentation, and selection.
  • Collaborate with internal business to ensure understanding of requirements and to gain business knowledge for successful recruitment
  • Track applicants in HRIS Recruitment Platform
  • Manage external job board postings and recruitment tools
  • Coordinate candidate pre and post interview follow-up communications
  • Schedule interviews with candidates, hiring managers and the hiring team
  • Collaborate with the full Human Resources team to ensure all administrative components are completed
  • Manage and report all recruitment metrics with input from Human Resources team
  • Lead best practice improvements to our recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent
  • Support other HR projects as required

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of solid full cycle recruitment experience
  • Strong knowledge of candidate sourcing and recruitment tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, etc)
  • Fluent in HRIS preferably Dayforce
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Knowledge in Human Resources principles and an ability to apply this knowledge as it pertains to the company & people requirements
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must have advanced computer skills including proficiency in using MS Office applications
  • Ability to create and maintain an environment that is productive and fun to be a part of
