About the role

DATE POSTED:

EMPLOYER:

The Manitoba Museum

CITY/TOWN:

WINNIPEG

BUSINESS LOCATION:

190 RUPERT AVENUE

DESCRIPTION:

Organization Summary:
The Manitoba Museum is the provinces largest award-winning heritage and science centre. It is unique in its combination of human and natural history themes and renowned for its vivid portrayal of Manitoba's rich and colourful history, Planetarium shows, and Science Gallery exhibits. The Museum features immersive dioramas, multi-dimensional interpretation, science and astronomy education, and quality school and community programs. The Museum protects over 2.8 million artifacts and specimens in its collections, including the Hudson's Bay Company Museum Collection.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Rentals and Events, the Event Operations Coordinator is responsible for the hands-on, ground-level execution of all events held at the Manitoba Museum. This role serves as the operational backbone of the Rentals and Events team, ensuring that every event is set up correctly, runs smoothly, and is fully struck and restored after conclusion.

While the Rentals and Events Coordinator focuses on sales, scheduling, client communications, and booking administration, the Event Operations Coordinator focuses on physical execution: space configuration, furniture and equipment logistics, audiovisual setup and support, on-site vendor management, and leading Event Assistants through setup and teardown. This position works in close partnership with Facilities/MCCC, Security, and contracted AV vendors to deliver seamless events that protect the Museum's collections, brand, and operational standards.

This is a physical, fast-paced, client-facing role that demands exceptional attention to detail, calm problem-solving under pressure, and strong support of front-line event staff. The position requires a flexible schedule as the position holder would be expected to be at events on weekdays and weekend evenings, as well as during the day on weekends.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $46,218.29 to $58,480.87 annually depending on experience.

Conditions of Employment:
. Child Abuse Registry Check
. Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
