IT Systems Administrator
As a proactive and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator, you will support and enhance our IT environment. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of infrastructure, cloud systems, security controls, and enterprise applications. As a successful candidate, you will play a key role in maintaining operational stability, strengthening cybersecurity, and supporting strategic IT initiatives across the organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain, monitor, and optimize on-premises Microsoft servers and Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Support networking components including firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity controls including antivirus/malware protection, multi-factor authentication (MFA), identity access management, and vulnerability monitoring.
- Administer Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and cloud-managed endpoint systems, including user provisioning and device compliance.
- Deploy and manage operating systems, business applications, patches, and updates using tools such as Microsoft Intune, Datto, and scripting/automation tools.
- Identify and automate repetitive system administration tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Manage and support the Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Support infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, and technology refresh initiatives, including documentation and implementation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software procurement, licensing, support, and SLA management, ensuring timely issue resolution and evaluation of third-party tools.
Qualification, Skills and Key Competencies Required:
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in systems administration in a hybrid Microsoft environment.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management tools.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with automation, scripting (PowerShell preferred), and modern IT management tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and project coordination skills.

Working Conditions/Special Notes:
