Position Title Manager, Customer Supply Chain Initiatives (12 month contract)

Reports To Director, Customer Supply Chain Initiatives, Specialty Markets

Location: Markham, Ontario - Hybrid (minimum 40% in office each week)

Position Summary Reporting to U.S.-based Director, Customer Supply Chain Initiatives (CSCI), the primary focus of this role will be monitor, report on and identify trends for improvement on supply chain related penalty fees and supply chain cost to serve. As customer programs continue to expand around service expectations, a focus on the programs, resulting financial exposure and opportunities to mitigate warrant additional attention. In addition, this role will manage reporting of cost savings / avoidance work towards an annual target. Another responsibility will be documenting and overseeing our customer programs and ensuring value expected is still being realized.

This role also serves as a people leader, accountable for leading, developing, and coaching a team of supply chain professionals. The Manager, CSCI sets clear priorities, drives accountability, builds functional capability, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and results-driven execution.

The role will also have accountability for understanding specific needs of assigned customers and leading solution development that will drive volume, reduce cost, improve service and create a sustainable competitive advantage. This position will support supply chain collaboration with assigned customers and internal partners including sales, distribution, transportation, manufacturing, finance and integrated business planning.

Essential Job Functions Summary Financial Leadership

  • Provide sales and trade marketing groups with accurate and value-added financial analysis that will facilitate better financial and strategic business decisions.
  • Take a proactive role in understanding key financial components in the P&L and be able to explain key drivers or causes for material changes in the financial results.
  • Take ownership of identified incremental risks and opportunities (versus the latest forecast/plan) for the sales team
  • Prepare and maintain customer profitability reporting to be issued to the sales teams. Identify key drivers of variances and areas of opportunity.
  • Support the identification of incremental risks and opportunities (versus the latest forecast/plan) for the customer teams.
  • Support the promotional audit process to ensure trade funds are accurately accounted for and reflect the correct liabilities.
  • Support the trade fund audit for both internal and external audits. This will require knowledge of trade fund controls and accounting policies for trade liabilities.

Technology

  • Gain thorough understanding of Oracle on Cloud, CAS, Spotfire and Microsoft Excel and how to manipulate large databases.

Strategy

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for maximizing growth and profitability in the business, as well as provide thorough financial support to sales

Relationships

  • Understand customer needs between the sales team, trade marketing team, and finance and develop a balance to ensure all needs are serviced with the highest standards.
  • Provide leadership by communicating openly and honestly.
  • Gain thorough understanding of Oracle on Cloud, CAS, Spotfire Analytics, and Microsoft Excel and how to manipulate large databases

Qualifications

  • Degree, Diploma and/or relevant experience required.
  • 5+ years of related business/supply chain experience.
  • Prior people leadership experience (direct leadership, coaching, performance feedback).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to drive decisions with data.
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal) and ability to influence cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with reporting/metrics (Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Salary Range $92,000 - $132,000 annually

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Compensation will be determined based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, skills, work experience, and internal equity considerations.
