The Opportunity:
As an Accounting Analyst, you’ll provide financial and administrative support for the Company by:
- Collaborating with the Finance and Accounting team on financial and regulatory reporting.
- Supporting the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
- Assisting with process improvements and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
- Training and mentoring new staff members entering the Accounting Technician role.

What You’ll Do:
- Review and process invoices, employee, Director and Executive expenses to ensure accuracy and proper approval.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Company, Pension Plan, ARSP, and PMF.
- Prepare premiums, commissions, investments, and loss reports to support financial and regulatory reporting.
- Review reconciliations and other financial transactions prepared by Accounting Technicians.
- Support year-end audit preparation and completion of required regulatory filings (e.g., OSFI, GISA, CCIR, Statistics Canada).
- Prepare quarterly and annual submissions and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Process monthly sales tax remittances and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Review and verify ARSP transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
- Train and mentor new Accounting Technicians to ensure consistent financial practices.
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 1-year related experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMS) with the ability to learn new or updated software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Accuracy is an important attribute in this position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and is self-motivated to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards is considered an asset.
