About the role
Contributing in this role means :
- Ensure that all equipment required to complete the job is on hand in accordance with project requirements;
- Adjust pressure and equipment as required;
- Check initial condition of steel surfaces and record on job sheet.
- Perform solvent cleaning as per SSPC-SP1
- Perform abrasive blasting using hoses and nozzles, in accordance with SSPC, AMPP, NACE and/or all other certified standards;
- Follow and complete the route sheet and call the inspector when an inspection point is identified;
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts according to safety standards;
- Notify foreman of any problem situation, defect or fault when rework is required or non-conformance has been identified;
- Ensure that the identification of all products supplied by customers is maintained/protected throughout operations;
- Any other related tasks.
What we are looking for :
- High school diploma (D.E.S.) or /and vocational diploma in a related field;
- Experience and knowledge of blueprint reading;
- Knowledge of SSPC standards;
- Experience in sandblasting, grinding or surface preparation (asset);
- Overhead crane competency card (asset);
- Spoken and written languages: French and English (asset);
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail;
- Teamwork and adaptability.
