Role Overview

Reporting to the Lead, Consolidation and Reporting, the Senior Analyst is responsible for leading the global financial close and consolidation process and operates OneStream, Teck's consolidation and reporting system.

The Senior Analyst will lead all aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial close and consolidation process, specifically coordinating site data loads and review, intercompany reconciliations, and the preparation of parent-level consolidation and IFRS consolidation adjustments.

Importantly, the Senior Analyst will prepare the consolidated cash flow statement, review and implement sophisticated financial transactions, reorganizations, wind-ups and IFRS implementation, while providing support to other team members as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Perform monthly consolidation process activities i.e. parent-level consolidation entries, IFRS consolidation entries, and cash flow entries for cash flow reporting
  • Preparation of consolidated cash flow statements, supporting schedules, and analysis reports
  • Review global intercompany reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy; guide teams that upload intercompany data to correct any identified errors
  • Support the global finance team in the preparation and implementation of sophisticated transactions, reorganizations, and accounting standards
  • Review Site data and support operations' accounting to ensure compliance with OS data requirements
  • Perform financial and variance analysis and investigate issues as the need arises
  • Ensure complex accounting transaction(s) and reporting requirements are accurately applied in the Enterprise Systems
  • Ensure data is accurately recorded in the company’s financial systems for accounting policy updates and new accounting standards
  • Partner with the Tax and Treasury groups on special transactions, reorganizations, financial queries, and ad hoc reports
  • Collaborate with the Lead to provide recommendations for changes in consolidating process and metadata

Qualifications

  • CPA designation
  • Bachelors degree in Business or Finance is preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in the accounting department for a large company (preferably publicly traded) in financial close, consolidation and reporting
  • Advanced OneStream user skills in data reporting
  • Sophisticated understanding of consolidation process, data analysis and process excellence
  • Solid understanding of SOX and internal controls requirements for external reporting and systems
  • Experience with complex accounting topics including IFRS implementations, legal entity reorganizations and wind-ups, and foreign exchange transaction
  • Excellent problem-solver with confirmed ability to identify and recommend operational improvements
  • Excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail with the ability to complete multiple concurrent priorities within due dates

Pay Range: CAD $105,000 - $130,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
