Q Wealth is currently seeking a self-motivated and energetic individual interested in pursuing a career in wealth management.
As a Transition Specialist, you will be responsible for handling tasks related to transitioning partner firms over to Q Wealth. You will provide excellent service to our partner firms by adding value and facilitating the transfer and transition process for them and their clients. You will provide them with proactive, professional advice and collaborate with our custodians to ensure a smooth transition for all parties involved.
Based out of our head office in North York, this position is eligible to work from home up to 3-4 days per week on a permanent basis with the aid of the best technology, cyber security, and cloud-based platforms.
Responsibilities Include
Facilitating bulk account opening with our custodians including opening complex trusts, IPPs and other entities. Initiating transfers once accounts are opened and diligently following up on rejections. Demonstrating new technology and processes to partners. Learn and work with external and internal systems. Responding to emails from advisors and their staff in a timely manner. Ensuring all their questions are answered/problems are resolved as it relates to the transition. Leverage different platforms to deliver on client experience and work out the issues during transition. Proactively take ownership of resolving and preventing problems before they arise. Coordinating with external service providers such as custodians and systems vendors to support onboarding. Other responsibilities dictated by the needs of the business in the area of onboarding and transition management. Pro-active, service-oriented problem solver with the ability to multi-task and perform professionally under pressure. Prior experience working in an investment counsel, advisory team, portfolio manager and/or fintech environment. Exceptional presentation skills, using Microsoft Office tools. Well-developed technical skills in Microsoft Office products such as Excel. Must possess sound judgement, sensitivity, and discretion; strong communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills, and the ability to establish effective work relationships. Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities in a timely manner and adapt to changing situations. Assist partners with operational requirements, from time to time as needed, drawing upon resources within the QW team. Identify opportunities for partner or Head Office process improvements and implement solutions. Testing new features extensively on our technology platforms and formulating a roll-out plan. Documenting procedures to maintain up-to-date training material.
Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include
2-3+ years of experience in Wealth Management (at a brokerage or portfolio manager) is required. Prior experience with account opening and transferring accounts. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines consistently. Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a challenging role. Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Positive Attitude. Servicing mindset and ability to jump in to help when required.
Preferred
Prior experience with NBIN/PM/CIRO back office operations is an asset. Knowledge of Excel an asset. Completion of CSC an asset.
