About Island Gold Mine: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold Mine is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. With over 550 team members, the underground operation is located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. This has supported a multi-phase expansion of the operation, driving production higher, costs lower, and strong free cash flow growth. Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, track, and improve key performance metrics consistent with business objectives.
- Create reports for discrepancies and trends and rectify outstanding items or escalate them to senior management.
- Enter approved invoices into SAP for payment along with preparing reservations and requisitions.
- Work collaboratively and assist the Reservations Agent to ensure the Camp Logistiks system has a correct recording of arrivals; departures; rosters and man days, and resolves any irregularities
- Work collaboratively with the Supervisor, Logistics and Camp Administration to manage flight and camp emergencies.
- Communicate and update policies, procedures required for an effective Logistics operation.
- Conduct regular bunkhouse/kitchen/mine site walkthroughs and inspections
- Participate in the budgetary process, maintain, and track budgetary items.
- Work collaboratively with all departments and maintain positive relationships with external contractors.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+yrs administration experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field is preferred.
- Remote camp, hotel or restaurant supervisory experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of mining camp operations is an asset.
- Must be able to analyze trends & determine appropriate action to be taken.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel.
- SAP or equivalent accounting software knowledge is an asset
- Self-starter who can anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
- The individual should have demonstrated a high-level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort.
- Skilled in identifying areas of deficiency, benchmarking performance, and implementing operational standards that ultimately elevate the efficiency and profitability of your area.
