Role Description This full-time, on-site Gas Fitter role is based in Chilliwack, BC. The Gas Fitter installs, maintains, and repairs gas lines, appliances, and heating systems in residential and commercial settings, following all relevant codes and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, inspecting and testing systems for leaks or defects, and performing adjustments to ensure optimal performance. The role involves interacting with clients, explaining work performed, providing basic maintenance guidance, and completing service documentation and reports. The Gas Fitter works closely with other technicians and supervisors to schedule jobs, maintain tools and equipment, and support a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications

Relevant gas fitter certification or license in British Columbia, with a solid understanding of local codes and safety regulations. Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and repairing gas lines, heating systems, and related equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer instructions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs. Commitment to safety practices, including proper use of tools, protective equipment, and adherence to company procedures. Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach when working on-site and explaining services performed. Physical ability to perform hands-on work, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied environmental conditions. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites in and around Chilliwack, BC. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing time and tasks to meet deadlines. Previous experience in heating, ventilation, and related trades is an asset.
