Upcoming Available Positions for the 2026 Season (mid-March - April Start) Underground (Water & Sewer Division) Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Work Local - Work Sureway! Job Type Full Time, Seasonal

Interviews Start mid-February 2025 (only successful candidates will be notified)

Job Starts mid-March - April2026

Schedule 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location Edmonton and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation

Essential Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements

  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Pre-employment

  • Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
  • Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Available Positions for the upcoming Spring 2026 Season (mid-March - April Start)

  • Mainline Excavator

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Mainline Excavator operator.

  • Must have experience in water/sewer installations, subdivision servicing, roadway construction and urban renewal projects.

  • Topman

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Topman in Water and Sewer.

  • Experience Shooting grades with a Rod and Level and or Batterboards.

  • Hoe Pack

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a hoe pack operator.

  • Must have experience with water & sewer

  • Track Loader

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience running a track loader.

  • Operate Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material.

  • Rubber Tire Loader

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience running a loader.

  • Experience loading rail cars, trucks, belly dumps, bins, etc.

  • Pipelayer/ Pipelayer Helper

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a pipelayer/pipelayer helper.

  • Directs activities within the trench to ensure the pipe is laid to the designed vertical and horizontal tolerances using levels or lasers.

  • Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding, cementing or sealing with glue.

  • Monitors backfill of pipe bedding to ensure proper haunch support.
