About the role
The Wolverines Hockey Club is now accepting applications for the position of Head Coach for our U13AA team for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
We are looking for a dynamic leader who can help develop young athletes both on and off the ice. The ideal candidate will bring a strong coaching background, a passion for developing youth players, and the ability to foster a competitive, inclusive, and positive team environment.

THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:

Serve as Head Coach of the U13AA Wolverines for the 2026-27 season

Build and maintain a structured, high-energy, and supportive hockey environment

Work collaboratively with assistant coaches, team manager, and other team staff
-
Design and run effective, development-focused practices aligned with age-appropriate standards
-
Attend and prepare for all games, practices, and tournaments, including out-of-town travel
-
Coach is expected to attend all off-ice activities and team development sessions
-
Collaborate with skill development personnel to ensure consistent player growth

Work with the Wolverines’ Hockey Operations team to align with club objectives
-
Foster a safe, respectful, and team-first culture that represents the Wolverines Hockey Club with pride
IDEAL CANDIDATES SHOULD:
- Demonstrate strong technical and tactical hockey knowledge
- Have proven experience coaching competitive youth hockey, preferably at the AA or equivalent level
- Be passionate about the development of young athletes and committed to long-term player growth
- Understand and apply effective communication, motivation, and leadership techniques
- Uphold the values of inclusion, respect, and sportsmanship
COMPENSATION
An honorarium will be provided to help offset expenses related to coaching commitments.

Hockey Alberta's main office is located in Red Deer, at Red Deer College. In addition, Hockey Alberta operates five Regional Centre offices, with locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Lloydminster.
