On the Bell Business Markets team, you’ll be a vital part of making innovation happen for enterprise-scale customers. You’ll deliver advanced solutions in areas such as IoT, Mobility/5G, Cloud, Cyber Security, Voice, Collaboration & Contact Centre and Internet & Private Networks.

A strategic business unit of Bell Business Markets, the Bell Public Safety Group (PSG) specializes in the design, build, delivery, and 24/7 support of software dispatching and NG9-1-1 solutions to Public Sector organizations.

Reporting to the Director of Public Sector, the successful applicant will serve as the strategic and commercial leader of the PSG. You will provide strategic direction to a high-performance team of software developers and subject matter experts while driving the market introduction of Next-Generation products.

We are looking for a growth-oriented, dynamic leader who can quickly grasp complex technical concepts and leverage the deep expertise of their Team Leads to drive business success.

##Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and commercial direction to the Bell Public Safety Group, empowering Technical Team Leads to drive day-to-day development and support execution.
  • Drive the go-to-market strategy and sales execution for the new IDX (NG9-1-1) data-sharing component, serving as the primary commercial prime for this product launch.
  • Mobilize and leverage internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Team Leads to structure technical proposals and present detailed solutions to Public Safety leadership.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key customer contacts, serving as the primary point of escalation and strategic partnership.
  • Lead the response strategy for major Government RFPs and sole-source contracts, ensuring the commercial viability of the deal while coordinating technical input from the development team.
  • Oversee the high-level financial health of the business unit (P&L oversight), working with the Project Operations Analyst to ensure billing accuracy and resource efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for portfolio growth and process modernization to maintain Bell’s leadership in the Canadian Public Safety market.

##Critical Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • MBA or PMP (Asset)

Critical Qualifications/Experience

  • 10 years of experience in Mission-Critical Software, Public Sector Technology, or Public Safety environments.
  • 5+ years of experience providing strategic direction to technical teams, with a proven ability to lead experts and orchestrate results without needing to be the technical SME yourself.
  • Proven track record in Technical Sales, Business Development, or Account Management with high-value clients.
  • Experience acting as a bridge between technical development teams and non-technical business clients.
  • Experience managing high-value government contracts and a strong understanding of public sector procurement cycles.

**Note:**Candidates must be able to obtain a reliable security clearance from the RCMP (includes a minimum 10-year verifiable history) to work on Police informatics systems, and to work in restricted access areas related to the position.

##Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English essential, French is a strong asset)
  • Rapid Learning Agility: Ability to quickly understand the high-level value proposition of complex software products (CAD, NG9-1-1).
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with Technical Team Leads to extract necessary information for sales and management decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with Remote Work environment for self and team and use of collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams).
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to switch rapidly between high-level business planning and operational crisis management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing deliverables for both external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, SharePoint
  • General knowledge of public safety contact centre technologies and Dispatch workflows
  • Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
