Accounts Payable Clerk
Full-Time - Not Remote
Location- Harley, Ontario
OVERVIEW
The Accounts Payable Clerk supports Stubbe’s financial operations by processing vendor invoices, payments, and corporate/employee Visa transactions. The role ensures accurate account coding, reconciliations, and review of billing for errors. It also involves investigating and resolving payment discrepancies while maintaining strict confidentiality. Reporting to the Controller, the Clerk helps ensure smooth and accurate financial workflows. Strong attention to detail and solid accounting knowledge are key to success.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
- Prepare and process payments to third parties, whether by cheque, credit or EFT
- Verify that purchase orders are charged to the proper accounts
- Post and reconcile payments to general ledgers
- Review bills received for potential errors and/or discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied transactions
- Apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records
- Investigate payment problems
- Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records
- Other duties as required by management
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum 3 years’ experience
- Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Strong problem-solving skills
