Job Specifics
Hope to Health Clinic is seeking a part-time permanent family physician. The start day is flexible and the clinic will accept family physicians whenever they are ready to start.
Physicians will be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary care team that includes an RN, LPN, social worker, peer support worker, and MOAs, as well as in house access to other health providers: PT, OT, dietitian, psychologist, and psychiatry consulting services. This opportunity is a 0.3 to 0.5 full time equivalent, with flexible scheduling available. The FP will see about 8 to 10 patients per day. The patient population is mainly complex clients living in the DTES with many co-morbidities, including mental health, addiction, and psychosocial issues.
Protected time for training and QI activities, and for indirect care.
On-Call Requirements: Weekly schedule every 7-8 weeks, averaging 6 weeks a year. Extra compensation for on-call provided.
Relocation assistance available.

Hope to Health Clinic, a program of the BC Centre for Excellence (BC-CfE), is looking to grow their teams. The clinic provides a team-based care family practice with drop-in available for clinic clients. The Hope to Health currently has 11 exam rooms, and physicians work in a team-based environment in their own work station. The team is well-supported by the BC-CfE with ongoing clinical research and experienced clinical leadership that fosters a great working environment. They provide a range of interdisciplinary primary care services and social supports such as mental health support, addiction treatment, HIV and Hep C treatments, and preventative care to marginalized individuals living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. The clinic does not provide care for children or pregnant women. Hope to Health specializes in an innovative support to substance use disorder; the clinic is quality improvement oriented and offers opportunities to participate in ongoing research.
Parking/Bike/Transit information: Limited parking in the back alley, accessible by bus and bike.
Hours: Currently working hours 8:30am-4:30pm, clinic open from 10am-4 pm.
