A strategic, proactive, and headhunting-focused role

As a true headhunter, you’ll manage the entire recruitment cycle, anticipating needs and positioning SYSTRA Canada as an employer of choice. As the orchestrator, you will coordinate the identification of needs and the prioritization of open positions, ensure clear and ongoing communication with candidates and managers, and lead the entire offer process to guarantee speed of execution, quality of hires, and an exemplary candidate experience.

Your Impact

Through continuous headhunting and targeted market monitoring, you will reduce the need for emergency hiring and fill the majority of open positions with targeted, well-aligned candidates. Your value will be measured by market intelligence, credibility, and strategic preparation: you will be able to detect signals, identify talent before the competition, and turn initial discussions into lasting relationships.

Missions/Main Duties:

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Talent Acquisition Lead will be responsible for the recruitment process for the ALTO project at SYSTRA Canada.

Strategic Partnership with Managers

Act as a true business-talent acquisition partner: understand the challenges, calibrate profiles, prioritize roles, and influence decisions tactfully and factually.

Strategic Planning of Recruitment Needs

Lead the strategic planning of recruitment needs for a major infrastructure project by anticipating critical skills, defining target headcounts and timelines, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure talent is available at the right time.

Full Recruitment Cycle

Manage the entire recruitment cycle: defining requirements with managers, drafting compelling job descriptions in collaboration with managers, conducting rigorous assessments, coordinating selection stages, negotiating and presenting offers, and ensuring a top-notch candidate experience through to onboarding. Coordinating recruitment needs with various project stakeholders and maintaining a log and dashboard of statistics related to recruitment activities.

Proactive, multi-channel headhunting

Identifying, approaching, and building relationships with prospects (via LinkedIn Recruiter, specialized networks, technical communities, and referrals), using relevant messages that generate responses and follow-ups.

Manage international mobility

Verify the availability of talent within the group by identifying key profiles and coordinating their end-to-end transfer to SYSTRA Canada, while ensuring immigration and tax compliance, cost optimization, and adherence to operational deadlines.

Profile/Skills:

REQUIREMENTS

**Education:**A graduate degree in human resources or a related field, and you are comfortable managing applications using a recognized ATS.

**Years of experience:**10+ years of experience in sourcing and recruitment, either in the rail, construction, or engineering sectors.

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and LinkedIn Recruiter.

Market knowledge: Ability to understand the railway, construction, and project management sectors, identify competitors, and stay abreast of recruitment trends.

With strong negotiation and networking skills, you have a “hunter” mindset.

Ability to assess the caliber and competence of candidates against strict requirements and the provided documentation.

At every stage of the recruitment process, ensure credibility is maintained through effective feedback.

Negotiate and present offers and finalize agreements with selected candidates.

Liaise with onboarding and HR teams/specialists to ensure the candidate’s successful integration.

Fully bilingual, you are a dynamic, creative, passionate, and solution-oriented individual.
