The Technology Infrastructure and Operations department in Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for operating and supporting core IT infrastructure and services at KPMG in Canada. The Enterprise Operations team is a core group within ITS who are responsible for the 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC),
as well as supporting our monitoring tools. This role involves the development, maintenance, and support of our core infrastructure, application monitoring tools, and enterprise dashboards.
What you will do:
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for our primary infrastructure and application monitoring tools (Datadog, Azure Monitor)
- Work with system architects and engineers to design and implement new monitoring solutions to support ever-changing business requirements as well develop and maintain enterprise dashboards
- Collaborating with Security Operations team leads to ensure toolset is compliant with all security requirements
- Design monitoring and triage responsibilities with TSO Management for ongoing support of our critical services
- Develop technical documentation outlining monitoring set-up and verification steps for project implementations
- Migrate monitoring workloads from on-premises to cloud native toolsets
- Work with TSO leadership to design long-term monitoring strategies
- Involvement in financial budgeting for the monitoring toolset and ensure that existing tools remain compliant within financial targets
- This role requires 24x7 rotating on-call support for after-hours support
What you bring to this role:
- Bachelor Degree in Computing Science or a related field or equivalent Technical Diploma combined with relevant experience
- 3 years of experience with cloud platforms and services such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, preferably with Azure and AWS Cloud (GCP is an asset)
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of a wide range of programming languages: C#, C++, Java, Javascript, Python, Powershell are all preferred, other languages are an asset
- Knowledge of IaC principles and tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef is desirable for automating the setup and deployment of infrastructure
- Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
- Strong understanding of critical service support flows, and experience with supporting or developing critical service/business continuity planning
- Experience creating enterprise reporting dashboards
- Experience with budgets, analysis, and chargebacks
