UX Researcher CBC Digital Strategy & Products is hiring a UX Researcher to support the design and development of digital products.

The UX Researcher will lead user experience research initiatives for product discovery and delivery, working closely with Product Managers and Product Designers to identify knowledge gaps, and propose research initiatives. A collaborative approach is essential for coordinating activities, avoiding research duplication, and maintaining a clear focus on desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product teams to identify and prioritize research efforts.

  • Identify and prioritize research initiatives that align with quarterly objectives and product strategy, working closely with the product managers, product designers, and other key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with product, design, and development teams to integrate research insights into decision-making.

  • Secure buy-in from product teams and DS&P leadership for research initiatives.

  • Stay up-to-date with user behavior trends to inform product development and enhance user experience.

  • Execute research initiatives with a strong focus on delivering actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Execute end-to-end research initiatives, including gathering requirements, planning activities, recruiting participants, collecting and analyzing data, and sharing findings.

  • Conduct user research using qualitative (e.g., interviews, usability testing, diary studies) and quantitative (e.g., surveys, analytics,) methods.

  • Synthesize and present research findings in an actionable manner to stakeholders.

  • Identify and collaborate on intersecting research initiatives to avoid duplication and maintain a clear focus on outcomes.

  • Stay current with UX research methodologies and explore ways to enhance research techniques.

  • Regularly review and update research methodologies to stay current with evolving best practices in the user experience field.

  • Explore innovative UX research technologies to enhance data gathering and synthesis.

  • Help advance UX research operations and ensure accessibility and inclusivity are integral to all initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development of research processes and documentation for knowledge sharing.

  • Ensure all UX research activities prioritize inclusivity and accessibility, and promote diversity.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience

  • The UX Researcher must have 2+ years of applied UX research experience, with a proven track record delivering valuable insights for product development and improvement.

  • Education

  • A suitable candidate should possess a degree in a behavioural research related field (psychology, human-centred interaction, user experience design) or equivalent work experience.
