The Team
The Global Risk and Treasury Technology team provides development and support services for Group Treasury (including Structural Interest Rate Risk management, Asset/Liability Management, Funds Transfer Pricing, Liquidity Risk, Stress Testing) and Global Risk Management (Global Retail/Corporate/Commercial Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Operational/Non-Operational Risk Management).
The Role
We are seeking a Platform Engineer with foundational experience in Microsoft technologies and a strong interest in cloud integration and automation.
- This role will support the deployment and maintenance of Windows-based infrastructure, assist in integrating vendor solutions hosted in Microsoft Azure , and contribute to automation efforts using shell scripting and Python.
- Exposure to QRM or similar financial risk platforms is a strong asset. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in **automation using shell scripts and Python. **
- Experience working in a major Canadian financial institution is highly preferred. You will be required to participate in multiple projects, including technical design, use cases, and process workflow of complex business processes for internal clients.
- You must possess the ability to work with a team of technology focused peers and the ability to juggle multiple/concurrent tasks.
- You must thrive on challenge, be proactive, dynamic and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Assist in the configuration and support of Windows Server environments, SQL Server instances, and HPC clusters.
- Support integration efforts between on-premises infrastructure and vendor-hosted solutions in Azure, including networking and identity components.
- Contribute to automation tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Python for system provisioning, patching, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot platform issues and implement performance improvements.
- Participate in documentation of infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, and automation scripts.
- Support platform operations for financial systems, including risk and treasury applications.
- Learn and contribute to projects involving QRM or similar financial modeling platforms.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have
- 1–2 years of experience in platform or infrastructure support roles (internships or co-op experience welcome).
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server, SQL Server, and enterprise IT environments.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure services and cloud integration concepts.
- Experience or coursework in shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and Python.
- Strong interest in financial systems and infrastructure reliability.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to QRM or other financial risk platforms. Familiarity with hybrid cloud concepts and networking fundamentals. Experience working in or with a financial institution. Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, or identity management basics.
