NorWest Co-op Community Health Job Posting Early Childhood Educator IIFull-time Term Position Department: NorWest Early Learning and Child Care CentrePosition: Early Childhood Educator II (Frontline Staff) Status: 4-month term position with possibility of extensionHours: Full-time, 40 hours/weekShift: Must be available Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.Rate: $27.56–$31.49/hour (as per CUPE Daycare Collective Agreement)Start Date: As soon as possible
Qualifications
Classification as Early Childhood Educator II
Strong interpersonal, team building, and leadership skills Current first-aid and CPR certification Good understanding of Early Learning and Child Care Program’s Regulations Must be energetic, friendly and enthusiastic Must be willing to take initiative Willingness to work with children who require additional support Experience in implementing activities for infant an asset Subject to successful criminal record check and investigation authorization/child abuse registry check.
Responsibilities
To ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
To provide emotional support and nurturing care to children
To provide children with the opportunity for optimum growth and development To follow Centre’s behaviour management policy To maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, to know and follow Centre policies and procedures.
Mentor staff
Communicate regularly and effectively with families /outside agencies Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
