As a Senior Manager, Business Operations - Acquisitions and Integrations, your responsibilities will include: Business Operations and Project Leadership:

  • Lead the Integration team throughout all phases, ensuring effective execution of activities during pre and post integration to ensure seamless onboarding and transition of the incoming firm.
  • Collaborate with the Due Diligence Project team to transfer knowledge effectively to the Integration Project team.
  • Take ownership of the integration project plan, demonstrating strong project management skills, and a proven track record of developing and executing project plans on schedule. This includes establishing work plans, identifying key priorities and milestones, and clearly communicating and reporting progress.
  • Lead pre-and post-integration calls with internal teams and vendor firms, providing timely updates to key stakeholders, while being accountable for timely resolutions.
  • Support leaders and colleagues involved in integration to incorporate due diligence findings (e.g., people, quality, legal), thereby enhancing both colleague and vendor experiences. Work closely with onsite teams to plan and prepare for onboarding and transition of the vendor firms’ colleagues and clients.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multiple internal teams and stakeholders - including Business Leaders, Legal, People & Culture, Business Operations, National Quality, and Information Technology - as well as external stakeholders such as the vendor firm’s owners and their team members, to execute integration plans.
  • Ensure clear understanding of interdependencies and conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation plans with the respective teams.
  • Contribute to the refinement and continuous improvement of the integration process by incorporating best practices and innovative techniques for future initiatives. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies through adherence to DoaneWay best practices, collaborative discussions with vendors and integration teams, and offer actionable solutions and recommendations to streamline transitions.
  • Facilitates debriefs and puts strategies into action to capture and use A&I best practices, ensuring ongoing improvement.

Team Leadership and People Management:

  • People Manager to specified colleagues and Team Lead for the Integration Team, focusing on coaching, professional development, team performance, including goal setting and team priorities.
  • Responsible for hiring, performance evaluations, delivery of Confidence Building Feedback (CBF), performance improvement plans, exits, and conducting and supporting sensitive conversations.
  • Engage with Senior Leadership and stakeholders such as Managing Partners and Service Line Leaders, to gather feedback and support continued growth and high performance of the Integration Team.

Data Management and Governance:

  • Responsible for the team that is accountable to act as the primary point of contact with the vendor to support the critical activity of gathering all required client data. Collaborate with the vendor firm to manage incoming firm’s client data, ensuring completeness, approvals, and critical requirements are met, as well as being pro-active to meet key deadlines in the integration workflow process.
  • Accountable for the overall data integration process with a strong sense of urgency and high level of collaboration with National teams and vendor partners to ensure completeness and accuracy for integration.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the client base being onboarded, the nature and scope, and timing and completion status of client engagements, including those “in process” at effective date, and within the first 30/60/90 days.
  • Oversight of all data imports and subsequent client data imports to ensure completeness, including addressing discrepancies and “collisions” on the client list.
  • Team accountability for completing preliminary annual Purchase Payment calculations for integrated firms based on the requirements of the Asset Purchase Agreement (“APA”).
  • Oversee the successful transition of service provider accounts from incoming firms to existing Doane Grant Thornton accounts, including lease assignments and Provincial CPA accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize several projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker, able to provide a balanced, practical approach to routine and complex issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build relationships with and influence individuals from all areas, role levels and functions in the firm.
  • Calm in times of increased pressure, eager to make a difference and has an infectious can-do attitude.
  • Able to create the environment for growth and generate energy to inspire and lead
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Project Management, or another relevant field.
  • Knowledge of mergers & acquisitions and the professional services industry is an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ work experience with relevant responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience leading and coaching teams.
  • Regular travel (more than 15%) to firms may be required to support pre‑integration, integration, and post‑integration activities

Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $121,000–$166,400 in Toronto. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
