Job Summary
Do you have an interest in art and experience in customer service?
The Visitor Experience Associate plays a key role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for all our visitors. Working at the National Gallery of Canada’s Box Office, this role contributes to the quality of the visitor experience by providing a pro-active, friendly and professional welcome to visitors, selling tickets and memberships, actively offering information regarding programs, activities, facilities and services, as well as providing information on the Gallery’s organization, exhibitions, collections, and tourist information.
Requirements
Education
A post-secondary education, preferably in art, art history or visual art or an acceptable combination of education, experience and training.
Work experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in a field related to customer service for the general public, more specifically in disseminating information and greeting visitors;
- 1-3 years’ experience in cash handling; 1-3 years’ experience in the use of a ticketing software such as Galaxy or other.
Skills / Abilities
- Demonstrates ability deal with the public effectively, politely and professionally;
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, reliability, judgment, integrity and ability, a team player.
- Excellent communication skills Ability to remain calm and diplomatic in all situations, including dealing with difficult customer complaints.
Condition of Employment
- Successful candidates will be required to meet the language requirement for the position through a language evaluation. Reliability Status - this factor is not used at the pre-selection stage.
