Site: Baycrest Hospital
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 23:00-07:00 (Nights)
Pay Rate: $20.55/hour

Overview Baycrest Hospital is a leading academic health sciences centre offering a full continuum of care for older adults, including independent living, assisted living, long-term care, and specialized post-acute hospital services—all within one campus.
As a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator , you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare control centre and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. This position is ideal for candidates looking to develop skills in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to grow within Paladin or pursue a future career in law enforcement.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate multiple systems, including CCTV, access control, fire panels, and life-safety technologies.
- Make emergency overhead announcements in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Answer telephones and dispatch security staff as needed.
- Assist in tracking and deployment of on-site security personnel.
- Handle incident call-taking, dispatching, and communication logging.
- Liaise professionally with visitors, clients, and hospital staff.
- Manage Lost & Found processes.
- Control the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/access cards.
- Issue visitor and contractor badges.
- Maintain exceptional customer service and professional presentation.
- Use computer applications, two-way radios, and SOC tools effectively.
- Apply working knowledge of access control systems and CCTV.
- Experience in dispatching or supervisory support is preferred.
Requirements
- Immunization Record: TB 1+2, MMR, Varicella
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Fully vaccinated (minimum 2 doses)
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid CPR & First Aid Certification (Level C, WSIB-approved provider)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (completed upon hire)
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in security
